Legalities aside, if you're ultimate origin is GRR, your ultimate destination is HAV, and your ultimate goal is to earn as many NW miles as possible-- this being the NW forum-- you can fly GRR--HAV on NW/CO/COPA and earn NW miles for the entire trip.

Schedules are pretty good despite the 3 connections: from GRR at 10:33am-- 33 min. in DTW, 40 min. in IAH, 1 hour 20 min. in PTY and arrive HAV 11:25pm. Return schedules are from HAV at 7:45am with 1 hour 5 min. in PTY, 1 hour 15 min. in IAH for customs, and 1 hour 20 min. in DTW to arrive GRR 9:44pm.
