Sorry, guys. My 85-year old Dad was just rushed into surgery and I was trying to get a handle on the flight situation during a confusing time. I just was able to book flight to MIA for today so that part of the crisis is over. I normally have no need for EF based on my booking patterns (always well in advance until today). Sorry again.
I hope your dad is ok, and good luck getting to FLL. Knowing why the LAX-FLL flight cancelled isn't going to help you or your dad. And what you're experiencing is a reaction to the flurry of these "why did my flight cancel" posts lately (as well as an "I almost missed my flight" and a "my luggage made my flight" post).
