Actually, there are HP flight numbers. Just like the AC/CP merger, each airlines flights still operate under the original's certificate.
US Airways flight 393 is actually flying as America West Flight 393, codeshared with US Airways.
According to my brother's TA office, there are still HP numbers on his SABRE system.
