Bearing in mind the journey time and the interval, you may not save much time (if any) over the Piccadilly Line. Although the underground takes longer, the intervals between trains are shorter. Plus the Piccadilly Line takes you to a wider choice of central stations directly without a change. You can use a Zone1-6 travelcard from Heathrow if using the Piccadilly Line.
