Bizarre. Firefox default is to do a google search for any not-obviously-a-website stuff you put in the address bar, unless it is defined as a keyword, so it sounds like you weren't defining the keyword properly....

Could you have entered " ba" in the Keyword field (i.e. with an extra space)?
