I got a fast-tracked gold status and was awarded the 500 and 1000 point awards. The awards were debited as an error somewhere around the 6th of Feb and back-dated to the January dates on which the award was originally applied. I called Hilton, but they said they had no record of ever having awarded the bonus points (and couldn't find a promotion that would have entitled me to them). Aeroplan says they just do what Hilton tells them to do in a weekly "tape run". So it seems somebody at Hilton not only back-debited our Aeroplan accounts, but erased the transactions from the Hilton system too so that the front-line staff would have no record of them when schleps like me go to inquire about "my vapourized bonus". Slick...
