I missed a Holland America cruise out of Tampa due to flight delays. The cruise line did very little for me but take me to a hotel and leave me there. Due to port changes, I was unable to catch up with the ship (bad weather) and finally went home after 2 miserable days sitting around a hotel in Tampa.

My family arrived on other flights (I was on a business trip) and sailed away without me. They were told I was at the port and would be boarded.....I wasn't.

I had travel insurance which paid for the hotel, but not my flight home. My husband was up charged to a single supplement rate for 'our' room.

We lost money on that cruise and he had a miserable week on the cruise.

Now we arrive at least the day before.
