There has been no single factor that has led to this but multiple irritations that have built up and pushed me away. I'm largely okay with the OT threads but fully respect the mods requests to try to limited them. What has irritated me most is the highjacking of threads with trivia and innuendo and sometimes downright childish behaviour. If the thread is started as a piece of nonsense and FT'ers what to contibute more nonsense then that is fine as I can choose to ignore the thread but when it is a factual or informative thread that gets high highjacked and I find myself wading through piles of bill5hit to find the stuff I want I get annoyed.
^ Very well put, these are my thoughts exactly regarding the evolution of "on topic" threads and purely OT threads; the problem seems to be with the "useful" information slowly drowning in a sea of fun and games. Nobody dislikes a good laugh, even in the "serious" threads, but when literally everything falls into the OT category, one wonders what purpose spending time on this site really serves.
If I only want sex, innuendo and jokes, I can go to pub or club or get roaring drunk with my friends.
Don't get wrong though! Keep the fun and the light-heartedness on this board!
But it would be nice if the OT material (including the jokes and innuendo) and BA-related material could be better seperated.
