It's possible you could book 2 award seats on the same booking for when you want to travel. Then, presuming you still have enough miles leftover to not worry about time to re-credit them to your account, when you receive your 241, call BA to simulataneously cancel the existing booking and open a new booking using the voucher.
However, the caveat is that the seats may not necessarily go straight back into an award bucket.
The only thing you'd lose if this didn't work is your cancellation fee but this might be well worth the risk.
