I already plan to sit down with this person tonight and explain the "circuit party facts of life and the do's and don'ts" and that if he can't handle this environment "and all that goes with it" (which can be overwhelming to a newbie) he needs to stay home. At any of these events I have learned that you need to be surrounded by the type of friends that you described and not some crybaby who assumed that this was going to be a bunch of gay men sitting around having a martini.
