I've done both, and I would say that the day flight is better. You arrive about 9/10pm, which should see you at your hotel around midnight, and then you can sleep.

The night flight, you're correct, not really enough time to get any quality sleep. If you have to go straight to meetings, you're going to be running on very little or nothing.

If I had to do it again, I'd go with the day flight.

As for the food, I don't remember.
