I thought my 7:50AM flight this morning from TPA to LGA started off poorly when I didn't upgrade to first. But that turned out to be a good thing. I had 25C (exit row) all to myself as nobody was in 25B or 25A. Tons of leg room and empty seats all around me. WOW....

First class is always full and if you are unlucky enough to get 1D or 2A on the MD88 there is not much leg room. My exit row seat was actually better.

Then to my surprise half way through the flight an FA approached me and she actually knew my name. She said she was sorry that I didn't get upgraded and she offered me anything from the FC cabin including cocktails.

I don't drink in the morning but I thanked her for her wonderful service.

This was far better than FC.

Was this my lucky day, or is Delta service improving??
