I had a deep look at the announce language buttons available while boarding a few months ago. Didn't see any chinese there... was this mainline or CL? Maybe a recent upgrade got the wrong recording on the italian tape. I once had a polish announcement on a swedish flight and the FA announced that she had pressed the button marked swedish and apologised for the polish announcement.
