NWA extends meals-for-sale program
Northwest has indefinitely extended its "Buy-on-Board" meals program.
After a one-month test run of the program, Northwest decided to continue the program on 12 daily flights on the following routes: Minneapolis/St. Paul-New York La Guardia, Minneapolis/St. Paul-Orlando, Detroit-Las Vegas and Detroit-Phoenix.
Northwest also added nine more flights in these four markets, bringing the total number of flights with meals-for-sale on board to 21.
The meals are offered to coach passengers on flights where meals had not previously been offered.
The complimentary meals Northwest serves on longer flights will not be altered during the test period.
LSG SkyChefs, a Northwest caterer, initiated the program and is sponsoring and financing the study.
Within the next two months, Northwest will add some flights to the test out of Memphis. Northwest is discussing the test with its Memphis caterer, Gate Gourmet.</font>
