I would not recommend giving up your seat assignments and playing for an involuntary bump. You want to control your own destiny in this situation and that means keeping your seats until YOU decide the compensation is worth taking. It is not necessarily true that those involuntarily bumped will receive greater compensation than those who volunteer. Maintain control of the situation with the idea that you will take your flight as scheduled unless you get an attractive offer to change it.
