You can probably do a bit better than that.

Train between the t1 and T2/T3 terminals is AUD 4.70. Just check for trackwork on your travel date (known as engineering work elsewhere).

If you don't have all that much luggage, the local 400 bus (direction Bondi Junction) is AUD 2.90 and leaves from just outside T1
