However at bag drop time I was told that the aircraft had changed but I still had bulkhead seats, this time 28DE so I guess the aircraft had 70 club seats.

Looking in mmb now it still shows 18 FG for the flight I just took and my upcoming return flight.

I was wondering if BA are no longer offering the configuration with 38 club seats, where WTP starts at row 17/18 (which I personally prefer). Looking on the BA site they no longer show this in their seating plan?

Thanks in advance

Nope it's been phased out. The 747s which currently have 38 club world seats have been changed to have 52 club world seats (with the introduction of new club world). I believe that WT+ will now be in front of business class on the lower deck.
