I understand what you're saying but the Security Screener had a 'reason' to.

1) her bag set off a detection machine
2) she refuses to go through the puffer machine

As it turns out, she has more than 3 oz. of gel/liquids (I'm guessing this is why she didn't want her bag searched since she knew they would be taken away). Now, I feel that everyone needs to follow the same rules. No liquids over the allowed amounts means no liquids above the allowed amounts. Is this a dumb rule? Not totally...it is possible to make devices which can harm others with larger amounts of liquid. And as we all know, the screener cannot profile. The screener probably thought it wouldn't be anything, but seriously, whats the big deal? I didn't throw a temper-tantrum when the Screener at SJU took away my unopened bottle of soda.
