First, decide whther you want to leave from JFK or EWR, because once you decide that, then the airline becomes clear! Delta's trans-con 757s have in-seat TV screens with satellite TV and video on demand. This should be important on a 6 hour flight. You will not get any clearer idea of which service is better or which food is better. Just assume that the food served in FC by either carrier, CO or DL, would be unacceptable if it were received in any restaurant.
So don't beat yourself up about which carrier to take... it really will not matter!
