Yes, these passengers will be disappointed AND SK should compensate in my opinion. But I am unfortunately rather sure that the CoC actually contains information that rerouting to another carrier will take place in Economy class unless Premium Economy is available.
I wonder if SK would reroute a passenger in Y+ on SEA-CPH to BA WT+ or WT? I think they would reroute to WT.
Regarding miles: if you have been invol rerouted you could/should always claim the original points from SK including EBS/EBG bonus.
