And I should mention, lest anyone think I tried this booking in one fell swoop, that I ALSO searched out each of these segments individually! So each search generally entailed only a single carrier!

Look at this example. In searching SIN-YYZ on March 4, SIN-HKG-ORD-YYZ comes up, as a 75k award. Great.

Now, try searching HKG-ORD on March 4, using a return date that you know there is 75k availability on (I tried Mar 4 - Mar 20). Guess what? 180,500 miles is the best option the website offers. Ridiculous!
