I always call CX directly to make sure my seats - and special meals are ordered - when i do it through AA it is hit and miss. As a Plat they should give you Row 86 if it is available.
Re - TBIT - the security lines can be pretty long, so I would try to clear through them even if you have to kill some time at the gate - that said, it is an ugly area with limited f and b options.
I'm flying solo this trip so I'll shoot for 86A or 86K and call CX direct. I'm currently AA Gold (Platinum after this trip) so we'll see how that goes!
Kill time at the gate with the masses after clearing security; yikes! (Just kidding!!!!) There must be some other option; sit in the temporary CX trailer/lounge? Track down an AC; assuming there's one after security (I'll have to check.)?
Seriously though, I am looking forward to this trip. I am interested to see how CX business compares to CO's business first product that I flew to TLV last year. From what I've read here it seems CX should win hands down.
