had the misfortune to fly ORD-FRA-JNB with Lufthansa. On the dates I wanted to travel, Lufthansa was the best bargain I could grab.
I knew Lufthansa is not a 5 star airline like Singapore.
But, how is Lufthansa rated a 4 star airline?
It could be true for first class or maybe for business.
But I can give only two star rating for the economy class.
Both flights on old Boeing 747's with IFE that dated back to the 80's. The TV screens in the aisles didn't even display the right colors. The seats were extremely uncomfortable and on the FRA-JNB leg I could feel the metal bars underneath me. On a brighter note, FA's were quite friendly and tried hard to be of assistance. Vegetarian meals on both flights were horrible. Lufthansa's definitely lost my business.
By the way, "There is no better way to fly"; it is a very cheesy advertisement scam.
