Actually, drove by it last night on the way home from Disney Hall. It looks quite luxe since the renovation.
I admit, I haven't been in it since the renovation but I have heard it is quite nice. I still would doubt that it is as posh as the Peninsula or the BH Hotel. But I think it, or the Century Plaza, would be a good compromise between luxe and teen, with the Sofitel leaning a little more towards luxe and the CP leaning a little more towards activities.
