Your mother can convert her AA miles to HH points, and then transfer those HH points to you:

HHonors points can be transferred to any other HHonors member in increments of 10,000 points, at a cost of $25.00 per 10,000 points. This rate applies to all points transferred up to 200,000. OTOH, by the time the OP pays $25 for the AA>HH transfer and then pays $75 for the HH>HH transfer, I'm not so sure the 30K points are worth it, but that's a decision that the OP will have to make.
