If you want to fly BA within Europe (which I agree does seem a little time consuming, especially since the mileage earned on BA discount fares is often minimal), you might want to look into the BA European airpass:

http://www.oneworld.com/ow/air-trave...s/visit-europe

It's a flat price per segment based on distance. I don't really know anything about the pass - seems it could be a good value, but it depends on how the distance is calculated (e.g. does the flight from BCN-NCE go off of BCN-NCE straight distance, or does it go off of BCN-LHR and LHR-NCE). In any case - might be something to check out. Note that you have to fly transatlantic on a OneWorld carrier to be eligible for the airpass.

You might also be able to save some money by pricing the airfare out as open jaw or round trip tickets from London, but that gets confusing and could potentially lead to troubles with delayed flights. For example, buy a one way DUB-LHR, then buy a LHR-BCN-LHR round trip, LHR-NCE-LHR round trip and a LHR-FCO-LHR round trip. This probably sounds awfully confusing; I used this method years ago to save money on a similar trip, but that was before the explosion of LCCs when most traditional carriers priced one ways as 2x the round trip. Anyway - just something else to play around with....
