Flying everywhere via LON on BA does seem a little ... well, mad (unless you really want the miles!!!).

Some LCC fly to weird airports (with Ryanair the most notorious) but many don't. Try www.skyscanner.net as another tool for finding routes and prices, it includes most LCC in Europe. I'm sure you could save some time and money.
