There used to be extensive seat maps on the American JAL website. You would have to find out which configuration you were flying, but most configurations were available (albeit without row numbers). Now I can only find limited seat maps on the Japanese site... http://www.jal.co.jp/aircraft/

How does one know which configuration has the shell seats? I only know a little from experience. Are all planes in a certain configuration shell (vs. Skyluxe)? Are there fewer business class seats in planes with shell seating?
