I am based in the UK, so purchasing tickets with Virgin shouldn't be a problem, but I can't really find out what sort of "deal" Amex could do until I get accepted for a card.

So if I had a Platinum Amex and bought a ticket with Vrigin (I assume that you need a ticket with Virgin and not just any carrier), then I could use their lounges? Even if it was a full fare or discounted Y ticket? Does this include their lounges outside of the UK (I assume that it doesn't also include their Arrivals facilities at Heathrow)?
