I'm surprised nobody else has asked this, but you're connecting in SAN? Are you sure you'll be both arriving and departing from Terminal 2? The AA codeshares use the commuter terminal, so you'd need to leave security and take the red bus. Not a huge hassle (much easier than, say, JFK), but still will eat into your CRC time. And there's not even a Starbucks in the commuter terminal.
