I note that the following applies now:
Code:
Latest Service Fee Update
Starting from 01 February 2007, except tickets of Cathay Pacific
and Dragonair, all air tickets are subject to, on top of any charge
due, a service fee of USD39 (or equivalent) per person for each of
the following transactions made through Cathay Pacific Reservation,
Ticketing, and Airport offices:
* Ticket revalidation
* Ticket Re-issuance
* Please note that fees collected are not refundable.
I'm really not sure how this works. I know that the CX office at Peninsula Tower has an AA side and a CX side. What about at HKG? If I go to them to reissue a OWExplorer ticket on CX stock obviously I don't get double-charged ($125+$39), but if the ticket is on AA stock what happens? Is CX's desk at HKG also representing AA? Do I have to say "I wish to interact with you as a representative of AA" in order to avoid being ripped off?
Once again the One World "alliance" exposes how paper thin it really is.
