when is a hotel no longer "brand new" - or "recently renovated"

Called a Hampton Inn I'm considering making reservations at and asked how old the hotel was. The desk clerk answered "brand new" and proceeded to say it was built in April '05. To me, something almost 2 years old is not brand new! Just like the phrase "recently renovated," I think hotels should put some limit on the length of time they use that phrase.

How long do you think it's fair to make that representation?
