I will say, while I also LOVE JetBlue in just about every way, their baggage handling STINKS. Bags are terribly show to arrive on the belt at every airport I've flown them to (IAD, BOS, LAS, JFK)... and often lost, especially if there's any sort of service distruption. Plus, when my bags have gotten lost (on non-stop flights no less), their baggage service offices are usually VERY short-staffed. I'd say baggage handling is JetBlue's one spot in need of major improvement.
All airlines have baggage problems for passengers originating out of IAD. From what I've heard, the automated bag sorting system does not work very well, sending some bags to the wrong airline's bag makeup room and resulting in left offs since the other airline sometimes doesn't spot the errant bag until after the intended flight has left. JFK doesn't have this particular problem, of course, since no one other than jetBlue flies out of T6!
I've actually found that the wait for
inbound bags at IAD has usually been pretty fast...last time I flew in on B6, the bags had beat me to the carousel thanks to the long walk from B concourse. First time that's ever happened on any flight I've checked bags on.
