I bought CX e-ticket with my brother credic card. And never got problems when checkin. They never requested the credic card. I asked the ground staff what will they do if the credic card was not shown when check in. They said usually they dont check. If really not shown, the passenger will be requested to sign a form to declare the card was legally used. They will let him get on board.
