Not so. I normally book my CX flights directly from CX's website and every time I've done so, I get a confirmation email from my Ccard company showing the fare has been processed. This is almost instant from the time I click purchase on CX's website.

I've purchased tickets direct as far as 6 weeks in advance and CX has billed me before I actually checked in and show my ccard.
