We sat out next to the Golden Gate Bridge yesterday afternoon and watch the Queen Mary 2 sail in. It was fairly impressive I'll have to say. It only cleared the bridge by 25 feet. It was massive and was greeted by probaly 10,000 along the route. It looked like no one was home watching the Super Bowl.
We rode the QM2 NYC-Southampton in 2005 and learned that a design parameter was the height of the Verazzanno Bridge; she clears it by 17 feet at mean low water.
