[QUOTE=abmj-jr;7162590][QUOTE=jib71;7162284]Or stay the final night in Kyoto ... the train from Kyoto station to KIX the following day. (Roughly 90 mins IIRC...

Actually closer to 75 minutes on the Haruka.

I agree with this. Kobe and Osaka are so close to Kyoto that it makes more sense to stay in Kyoto unless one has a specific reason for moving.

Am leaning towards staying another night in Kyoto. Originally we were moving because our hotel was full for the last night so decided to stay in Osaka and also because the flight back is departing KIX at 10:40.

However, having just checked now - the hotel now has rooms for the last night and at the same rate as the other nights. (strange it was full until now)

Hyperdia quotes between 1h20 and 2h and Yen1800 and Yen3200 for the journey so it is doable to travel to KIX on the morning of departure.

For the easiest journey- 0 stops- the "LTD.EXP HARUKA 3" hyperdia says the cost is ¥2980 and seems to break it into
Fare ¥1830 + Unreserved seat ¥1150
Does that mean that the ticket is 1830 if you don't get a reserved seat?
