Is there an exception for camera equipment thike there is in the US?

I normally take two carryon bags. One is the personal stuff I need on board,the other is my camera equipment. So, in the US, you can technically take three bags on board if one of them is a camera bag.

If the limitation is literally "One", that will complicate my travels a lot.

Time to start exploring Asia and South America for the next few years.
