Now, on all the flights I want according to the seat map there are seats open across whole rows of preferred. I'm the only one with status -- will I have trouble securing all of the seats I want given that some members of my family will be on a separate PNR?
Chances are it wont work. Preferred seating is meant for the Preferred member and a guest (as is this case with most airlines). Plus its being a being hog expecting to get 6 people in Preferred seating. That would just take away from people who rightfully should have access to the seating.
