I'm looking at booking a trip with my family, but doing it on separate PNRs. Why? Chances are it wont work. Preferred seating is meant for the Preferred member and a guest (as is this case with most airlines). Plus its being a being hog expecting to get 6 people in Preferred seating. That would just take away from people who rightfully should have access to the seating.
