(I realize Virgin isn't an official member of oneworld, but I thought they had some sort of alliance or something similar to being in oneworld....?)
It is probably also worth mentioning the O and Q issue with AA transatlantics - it's quite possible that miles won't be earned on the JFK LHR segment either.
