I'm confused. I just booked a flight from JFK to Delhi. The first leg is JFK - London on American, the second leg is London to Delhi on Virgin Atlantic.
I was under the impression that American and Virgin are codeshare partners and that I would be earning AAdvantage miles on BOTH legs of the flight.
However, now that my ticket is purchased it appears that I am only earning miles for the American leg.

(I realize Virgin isn't an official member of oneworld, but I thought they had some sort of alliance or something similar to being in oneworld....?)
It is probably also worth mentioning the O and Q issue with AA transatlantics - it's quite possible that miles won't be earned on the JFK LHR segment either.
