How long before a flight can you check-in hold baggage at LHR?

I've done a search on the forum, BA website's help, as well as the stickies, but can't find a definitive answer to this...

I'm out in WT+ to PEK on Saturday from LHR for 23 days relaxation with my wife's family in Dalian. The flight's in the afternoon, but I'm thinking of upgrading to CW and getting to LHR early and just relaxing in the lounges as I've got nothing else to do (Mrs. Alistaln already headed out to China early).

So what I want to know is how far in advance can I check in hold baggage at the fast bag drop? Is there a standard limit, or set guidance? Does travelling in WT+ or CW make a difference? Will it depend on the person?

I know if I was anywhere other than at a major BA hub, it would need someone to be manning the desks, but at LHR that won't be a problem. However, just because the desk is manned, doesn't mean that they will take my bags.

Of course, if I upgrade, arriving this early is likely to mean I could get an appointment at the spa but I won't set my heart on that

Any advice appreciated.
