No reason to mess around with QF. If originating at LAX, purchase a full F fare ticket LAX-LHR. That will only set you back -- temporarily of course -- about $9k. Check in for your real flight, and check any bags. Then go to a different agent at the counter and check in for the LHR flight, telling the agent you have no luggage. Go through security, and use your LHR boarding pass to get into the Flagship Lounge. Make yourself comfortable, then call AA, tell them that you have to cancel your trip and request a refund.
