for sure, you're talking about Parisians, not THE FRENCH THE FRENCH does not exist. all are individuals and the attitude problem is somehow a Parisian problem, but then again: I had some wonderful shopping experiences in Paris - and some nightmares (not better than NYC, MUC or whatever ... )

I live in France but I have to admit - I don't get your question.

don't expect the same service attitude as you have in the US. what stuff are you looking for? b
