You may have been lied to. In a press release in December, AA announced:

First Class passengers flying on transcontinental routes on three-class aircraft will have access to American’s Flagship Lounges, usually reserved for international premium class customers. But currently aa.com still states:
Full-Fare First Class passengers (F or Z inventory) departing on, or connecting to or from, a domestic U.S. nonstop American Airlines transcontinental flight have Admirals Club lounge access and Flagship Lounge facility access (where available)#.
