I think your letter is to the point. Unfortunately, I don't think I have EVER seen an airline accept responsibility for a delayed flight, even when it was clearly the fault of the airline (mechanical, pilot/staff scheduling problems, etc). It is really frustrating! I'd love to see a follow up post after you submit the letter.
