Having spent many hours on the Dash 8, not as many as some Sudburians, I can comment on them.
They are noisier than a jet, more cramped than an AC jet with the exception of the CRJ. They serve their purpose for short, under 2 hour, flights. Comfort and luxury are not words that could be used to describe them, however what else could be used or expected on a short hop serving smaller markets?
They fit the bill, sure I would like J comfort and service, heck I would like a GV for my flights to AKL as well, but beggars can't be choosers.
