Definitely make the AA 762s seem luxurious by comparison. It is definitely a budget J, and priced accordingly (often available for USD 1000 ex-YYZ). IFE is non-existent (main screen movies), but the food and drinks are very good (hearty hungarian cuisine and with large portions). Crew are good, work very hard and the longer flying time to BUD (2+ hours beyond LHR) makes for a nicer flight. It is a lower-end J than the much-despised EI J (which leaves Oneworld just as MA joins; however it isn't clear whether MA will have the worst J in Oneworld, RJ is working hard to earn that title, and at least one of the JL affiliates is also an LCC with a J that is maybe worse than MA offers).
There is some chance that the new 762 will be fitted with better seats, however it is unlikely that the existing 2 will be refitted. In any case MA is likely to run the new plane BUD-BKK and not trans-Atlantic.
Thanks!! I probably should have posted this question elsewhere, but your answer gives me all the info I was seeking.
