Unfortunately - and I find this extremely irritating as well - yes you do.

I really don't understand why CX can't take the money in advance so that they have it before you fly. I could understand the process for tickets booked less than, say, 48 hours in advance, but what they do now is extremely annoying. It makes it more or less impossible, for example, for me to use my credit card to buy tickets for someone to visit me on a ticket bought in another country. Instead we have to go through all the hassle of me sending cash to them by Western Union or similar and then they have to go to a travel agent to buy the ticket. This wastes a huge amount of time for no reason.
