eTicket - Credit card

I have bought an eTicket for HKG-TPE-HKG, and I must admit that I checked out without having read the Terms and Conditions (but who does?). Anyway, once I was done I found out that I need to show the credit card I used for buying it upon checking in, as otherwise the company has the right to deny my boarding.

It's a business trip, and we usually pay flights online with a card that never leaves the office. I have my own company Visa card, and I'm sure I'd find the way to fly, but I'd like to avoid any problems when checking in. Do you really have to show the credit card, or is it just a formality?

Thanks.
