Those sound like the space saver convertible seats that BA trialed last year. As the tray comes down the centre armrests actually move in a little to provide a wider seat.

Although BA are now introducing the space saver seat onto the shorthaul fleet they are retaining the existing 2x3 convertible seat for the CE portion rather than moving to the space saver 2x2 - presumeably for load reasons.
